Install the Controls Toolbox app

Put Controls Toolbox on your phone or computer. It opens like an app, and the calculators, tools and checklists keep working when you have no signal.

If you do not see an "Install now" button, follow the steps for your device below. Some browsers, including Safari on iPhone, only offer installing from their menu.

What you get

An icon on your home screen or desktop that opens Controls Toolbox full screen, without the browser's address bar.
It works offline. After you open the site once while online, the calculators, tools, checklists and guides are saved on your device. That helps in a plant, a panel room or anywhere with a poor signal.
No app store. It installs straight from your browser, uses very little storage and updates itself whenever you are online.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

Open controlstoolbox.com in Safari.
Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.

Android (Chrome)

Open controlstoolbox.com in Chrome.
Tap the menu (three dots).
Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen), then confirm.

Windows, Mac or Chromebook (Chrome or Edge)

Open controlstoolbox.com.
Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install Controls Toolbox (in Edge, Apps then Install this site as an app).
Confirm. It opens in its own window and can be pinned to your taskbar.

Check that it works offline

Open the app once while you have a signal and click through a couple of calculators. Then turn on airplane mode and open it again. The pages you use should still load. If something does not, tell us on the contact page.

Questions

Is it a different version of the site?

No. It is the same site, installed. Anything new we add appears the next time you open it while online.

How do I remove it?

Remove it like any other app: press and hold the icon on your phone, or uninstall it from the browser's menu on a computer. To clear the saved values as well, clear the site's data in your browser settings.
