Wire Schedule and Wire Label Generator
List each connection as from and to, and get a numbered wire schedule with the label text for both ends of every wire.
Numbering
Connections (one per line)
Only "from, to" is required. Signal, gauge, length and color are optional and are copied through to the schedule. Lines starting with # are ignored.
How it works
Each connection gets the next wire number (prefix plus a zero-padded counter). The labels follow a common field practice: the label at the from end names the wire and where it goes, and the label at the to end names the wire and where it came from. That way a technician holding either end knows where the other end lands.
Worked example
The first line above becomes wire W001. Its label at the TB1-1 end reads W001 to K1-A1, and its label at the K1-A1 end reads W001 from TB1-1.
Common questions
Does it check for duplicates?
Yes. If the same from and to pair appears twice, it is flagged. A second wire between the same two points can be legitimate, but it is more often a copy and paste mistake.
Does this follow my plant's wire numbering standard?
It follows a simple common pattern. Some standards number wires by signal or by the terminal they start from, and some require specific marker formats, so adapt the prefix and numbering to your drawing standard.
This tool is provided for convenience. Check the schedule against your drawings and applicable standards before issuing it for construction.
